Whatever your requirements, our new generation of 80 GHz radar devices is suitable for the most challenging applications up to 450 °C and 160 bar. These devices have been developed from the ground up in accordance with IEC 61508 and on the basis of our many years of SIL experience. The wide range of available measuring devices and future-proof solutions like Ethernet-APL make the new range capable of meeting your requirements.
Maximum safety
Regardless of your individual safety requirements, our generation of radar devices has them covered. Features such as remote analysis and operation via smartphone or tablet ensure that employees have maximum protection when installing and using the devices. This is particularly beneficial in areas that are hazardous or difficult to access.
A clear reduction in systematic errors is achieved through the use of guided wizards during SIL locking or proof testing, for example. In the event that you need to replace a device, your technical staff can use HistoROM to transfer parameters quickly and without any data loss.
Heartbeat Technology
Heartbeat Technology with diagnostic, monitoring and verification functions makes the new generation of 80 GHz radar sensors ready for the digital future. All devices meet the expectations of tomorrow's technology - today! Irregularities such as foam formation are detected quickly and reliably. Predictive maintenance increases process safety and extends maintenance intervals. Permanent process diagnostics and self-diagnostics increase the efficiency and productivity of your plant processes.
Traceable verification in accordance with DIN ISO 9001 is possible thanks to Heartbeat Technology and the radar accuracy index (RAI). This provides the basis for extending calibration cycles and reducing documentation workload and costs. Verification takes place directly at the measuring point in less than three minutes, without the need to remove the device or to interrupt the process. The documentation is created automatically.
High-temperature ranges
Are your processes particularly demanding on your measuring technology in terms of process pressures or high temperatures in reaction vessels, for example? Here the Micropilot FMR62B can be used without any problems, in changing media as well as in the case of moving surfaces or agitators, from –196 °C to 450 °C and from –1 to 160 bar. The high-precision performance of 80 GHz radar supplies you with accurate measurement results in many other applications too.
The narrow beam angle is an important factor. Additional benefits: Guided test runs for SIL proof testing, checksum (CRC) for all safety-related parameter settings and foam detection thanks to Heartbeat Technology.
Hazardous products
If extremely hazardous intermediates are produced, the strictest safety precautions are required for storage. This is where the new radar sensor design and the high level of SIL expertise of Endress+Hauser come into their own. All devices are suitable for SIL2 applications, with homogeneous redundancy even up to SIL3. They have been fully developed in accordance with IEC 61508 , resulting in an extremely high diagnostic level.
Ceramic process separation, an additional glass seal and highly resistant materials increase the safety of the plant. Maintenance-free and intuitive operation ensures that your employees are protected against possible hazards.
